There’s no single method that works for everyone. You need to prepare and get support. Here’s how to start:
Reduced blood supply to the brain can lead to rapid loss of brain function or stroke.
Hypertensive retinopathy, high blood pressure can damage blood vessels in the retina, resulting in loss of vision.
Blood Vessel Damage:
Atherosclerosis, hypertension is a leading cause of atherosclerosis, the artery-narrowing process that can result in heart attack and stroke.
Hypertension causes the heart to pump against high blood pressure, making it work harder than necessary. Over time, this causes the heart muscle to thicken, restricting blood flow which can lead to heart failure.
Damaged blood vessels in the kidneys can’t effectively filter your blood, resulting in a dangerous accumulation of fluid and waste.
High blood pressure may increase the amount of calcium in your urine. That excessive elimination of calcium may lead to loss of bone density( osteoporosis).
How diabetes can affect your body
People with diabetes are 2 to 4 times more likely to suffer a stroke than people without disease.
High blood sugar can cause kidney damage and lead to dialysis.
Gout and type 2 diabetes often coincide, due to high blood sugar and poor diet.
Blurred vision, caused by high blood sugar, high blood pressure and poorly controlled diabetes, can lead to blindness.
Heart disease is the number 1 killer of people with diabetes and is caused by high blood pressure and high cholesterol.
Damaged nerves and blood vessels can cause poor circulation in feet and legs, requiring amputation in the most severe cases.
Having a healthy attitude is always contagious. Don’t stand there and wait to catch it from others. Work yourself off for a clear mind and a healthy body.
Here are some tips that will keep you in shape in a short period of time; but remember, more effort means a better result.
1 – Start off right with drinking more water. Keeping your body hydrated with several glasses of water a day will help regulate metabolism, purify your body, lose weight and boost your immune system.
2 – Maintain a regular sleep pattern: getting 7 to 8 hours of sleep is a major factor of being healthy. Enough sleep minimizes anxiety.
3 – Eat breakfast everyday: starting with a good breakfast will keep you concentrated during the day, it is the first fuel for your body.
4 – The food procedure:
Avoid junk food. All food with limited to no nutritional value qualifies as junk food. Stick to healthy food that is high in proteins, vitamins, and minerals, such as unsalted nuts, dried fruits & salads.
Replace unhealthy food with healthy food: white bread with wheat bread, swap crisps /potato chips to nuts or crackers.
Eat meals slowly and stop eating when you are full. You will get hungry every couple of hours, which is a good thing. This means your body is using what you give it.
Anything healthy as a snack will help maintain your energy level throughout the day, and help you prevent blood sugar spikes.
5 -Exercise at least 3 to 5 times per week. Work out for at least 20 to 30 minutes( preferably up to an hour). Don’t limit your activities at the gym, go out or work out with someone or join sports team.
6 – Wash your face in the morning and at night before bed to keep your skin healthy and clean. Brush your teeth 2 to 3 times a day for a clean fresh mouth. Take care of your appearance, always wash your face after sometimes it will make you feel better about yourself
– Good diet/ good vision
Studies show that certain nutrients help to keep from age related vision problems (degeneration and cataracts). Work on foods and supplements with omega-3 fatty acids, zinc, vitamin C, lutein, and vitamin E into your diet.
– Stop Smoking for healthier eyes
Smoking increases your risk of developing macular degeneration, optic nerve damage, and cataracts.
– Protect eyes with sunglasses
You are more likely to develop vision problems if your eyes are exposed to too much UV. Good quality sunglasses help to protect eyes from the sun’s ultraviolet rays.
– Use safety eye-wear at work, playing sports and at home.
Wear safety glasses or protective goggles whenever you handle hazardous materials at home or at work. Wear sports goggles with polycarbonate lenses or a helmet with a protective face shield to protect eyes.
– Give eyes a break from the computer screen
Take an eye break every 20 minutes. Rest your eyes by gazing 20 feet away for 20 seconds. Get up and take a 15 minute break at least once every two hours.
– Visit you eye doctor regularly
Even young children should have their eyes examined routinely. It helps to protect eye health and make sure that your vision is as good as possible.
